Our Jumper Skirt - Serape Made from 100% cotton thread and foot loomed by one of our master weavers, Maribel Granados. The fabric features a century old "Jaspe" technique; the Ikat stripe is the GOLD in this beautiful rainbow fabric design.

Ikat is an old dying and weaving technique, that is hard to explain and even harder to actually do. The dyer makes bundles of threads, ties the bundles with thread at strategic points, and with a syringe, the dyer drops dye on the tied threads to form a pattern or design.

1 inch hem, upcycled denim on top, 100% cotton, adjustable straps.

How we make them

Hand weaving is the most carbon-neutral way of producing fashion materials, and our foot-loomed cotton is ideal for the minimalist in all of us. Weaved in the highlands of Guatemala by Maya master weavers who use century old techniques that cannot be duplicated by machines. Guatemala is the motherland of foot-loomed textiles. For centuries, the beautiful hands of women, AND men, have used the back-strap and foot-loom as their writing instruments to record their history, their dreams, and love of their country. Our natural cotton is everything you want for you and your family, soft, natural, and chemical free.

Handmade by Artisans

Artisanal products differ from fast fashion products in that they are made in a traditional or non-mechanized way. Artisanal products are hand-crafted by skilled cobblers in small quantities with high quality and design in mind; using techniques that cannot be replicated by machines!
